I Visualised, Believed And Won The Award!

The Secret Story of The Week:
By Lynn, from the UK

Thank you, thank you thank you to The Secret team and every person that was involved in bringing joy to billions. You have touched my life and helped me to turn gratitude into gold. I am truly blessed to have had The Secret, The Power, The Magic and Hero brought into my life. Thank you with all of my heart.
I was browsing online one day for other members of my chosen profession in life. I stumbled across one young woman who had won an award. This award is only given to one person each year for a particular category of our profession. The young woman was standing there in her gown holding her award which was in a frame. I stared at the picture of her and thought 'Wouldn't it be great if I could win that award. I'd feel amazing.'

In fact, I already felt amazing just thinking about it! I had really hooked into my desire and felt all energised and revved up, like crackling butterflies in my tummy, jumping with excitement. I dropped the laptop that I had been viewing her picture on and started pacing about my room with all this energy, thinking about how wonderful it would be to have already won this award.

All of a sudden, a thought came to my head that if I won, I would write a letter to a hero of mine within my profession. But I didn't want to wait that long! So I grabbed my laptop and started bashing a letter out as if I already had won. I left a gap in the letter for where I would paste the photograph of me winning, so that they could see.
Now, I wasn't sure how I was going to win. All I knew was that the very idea of me winning made me feel really, really good!

The next couple of months another woman placed an advertisement, needing someone with my skills. Something drew me to her, and I agreed that I would interview for the position. I did the interview and it went amazingly well. I already knew she loved me! And sure enough, she contacted me and said I'd gotten the position.

Now, I had not mentioned to anyone about my dreams of winning this award. In my own private time, while walking home from the train station or walking to my sister's house, I re wrote my letter in my head and imagined how good it would feel to finally paste in the picture of me winning the award. Sometimes I couldn't help but smile to myself and do a little 'skip' in the road at the sheer, beautiful thought of it all.
So without my saying a thing, the woman I was now working for emailed me one day to say that she thought I was eligible for the award and had put forward an application for me. I was so pleased and sincerely grateful and glad that she had enjoyed what I'd done!

A few weeks later, she called me and before I answered the phone, I knew what it was about. She called me to tell me that I had been chosen as one of the 3 final nominees out of hundreds of people and I was to go the awards ceremony. I was thrilled!

Another few weeks later and I'd moved onto not only writing the letter to my hero in my head, but also sent text messages to myself as if I was texting my family, friends and loved ones to tell them I'd won. I was picturing their reactions in my head!

So when I went to the awards ceremony and watched the presenter open the envelope, I knew, like I knew, like I knew, that it was going to be my name that would be read out. I had even prepared a little speech.

Sure enough she read out my name and I accepted my award and as I was walking down the stairs after giving my speech, a photographer pulled me to the side and took a picture of me holding my framed award.

I was shaking as I was having the photo taken because I realised the law of attraction was a very real thing! As I walked away from the photographer, I smiled and thought, finally, I had the picture for my letter to my hero.

I am sending it tomorrow. I'm imagining them opening the letter and feeling good about how much they have inspired me.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

The Power of Gratitude, My Grandmother

My Grandmother is 87 years old. She loves gardening, and she has got a habit of not sitting still as she loves to do some work all the time. In June, while working in the garden outside our home, she slipped and her thigh bone was broken. She started crying in drastic pain.

My father and I took her to the hospital. After examining her, the doctor said that the bone was broken from the joint and there was no chance now that she would ever walk, even after an operation because she was old and her bones were too weak.
That was a very sad moment for all of us. I looked into my grandmother's face. She was crying and looking at me as if she believed that I would do everything to treat her. We asked the Doctor if she could sit? The doctor said, "Yes but only after an operation".

She got operated on the next day, a metallic rod was fixed in the joint of her hip and thigh. The operation was successful. The doctor resisted about her being able to walk on her own. For the next month, she did everything in the bed only. All of us tried our best to take care of her. I remember those nights when she used to cry immensely in pain and we could only give her consolation. Once she said while crying, "I don't want to live anymore, nothing is left now. I am giving all of you pain and grief". I got so sad listening to that but I told her one thing. I said, "Ma, maybe you have got a broken bone but all the other parts of your body are functioning properly. It is okay if you can't walk but if you can sit, that would be excellent for us.".
I don't know exactly what happened to her after she listened to my words but from that day on, she stopped complaining completely. Instead, she started saying thank you to God almost all the time. When people used to come to meet her and to express their sad emotions towards her, she used to say with a laughing face, " I am alright and I will start walking soon to water my plants."

She was truly grateful that her other leg was perfect, she was grateful that she could properly watch, listen and hear us, she was grateful that we were with her in every situation and she was grateful that she could sit and sleep.

One and the half months after her operation she asked us to let her stand on her legs. My father helped her stand. That day for the first time, after almost 50 days, my grandmother could stand on both of her legs. That was a fantastic moment for all of us. From that day on, she tried her best to do exercises and to stand. Slowly she started walking with the help of a walker. I can imagine how much pain she felt while walking initially. But she had already decided to never complain. She was so happy that she managed to walk, even a little.

After two and a half months we went to the doctor who had operated my grandmother. I entered his office with my grandmother and yes, you guessed it right! My grandmother entered on her own without the help of any walker or anything. The Doctor was shocked after watching her walking! My grandmother blessed him and gave a sincere thank you. She said, "If you were not there, I could not have ever walked". The doctor replied in shock and wonder, "Mata Ji, I have done lots of operations in my career but this is the first case of an 87-year-old woman walking just two months of her operation! You are the true inspiration for me, today you are walking only because of you, not because of me!"

That is how Gratitude works. When you focus only on your blessings and don't bother about what you lack, you tell the Universe that you are happy with what you have and in return, the Universe gives you things and situations for you to feel happy about.

New Year’s message from Rhonda Byrne

All of us at The Secret want to wish you the happiest of New Year’s for 2019!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

Recently I’ve been focused on setting intentions, and so it’s appropriate that my New Year message to you is to remind you of the power of setting an intention at the beginning of every day.  Direct the universal forces to do your bidding and state how you want particular things in your day to go, making sure to say how you want your day to go overall.  Like this:

“I choose that this day be the best it can be.”

“I choose that this day be harmonious in every way.”

“I choose to be happier from moment to moment today.”

For a good life, it’s so important to set a positive intention for the day, because without it, your day can automatically default to the negative. You can set your intention the night before, or as you wake in the morning, but be sure to set it.  It’s the perfect habit to adopt to ensure a fantastic 2019!  Another habit to adopt is to watch The Secret documentary every year on January 1st to ensure a great year ahead.

Here is my intention for 2019:

I choose that 2019 be the best year of our life - but in particular - the best year of your life!
